Making money online, is it possible?

Well I have been interested on and off with paid to sites, and have learned much from them. The first thing I have learned is that they do pay, they do work, but do not expect to get much money.

There are many get paid to click sites, which in my opinion are a pure waste of time, indeed these pay so little per click, finding a gig or job would allow one to easily win more than what one could win in 3 hours on a pay to click site in an hour.

The most profitable sites are payed to do survey's sites. For people trying to pay for a specific service every month, such as an online game, well doing a small survey a day can let one pay for that service.

I would recommend dollar surveys: http://www.dollarsurveys.net/, this allows one to get a dollar per survey, doing this every day can get one 30$ a month, which is more than enough to pay for some subscription services (cell phone, online game etc...)

Another effective, more long term way of gaining money is making a site or a blog for a niche market. A niche market is one that is very small and does not have much exposure on google. I personally did this on imovie from pure good will, but I now have made over 70 dollars in ads, and it is slowly growing.

The Girl Effect, thoughts on this charity

The girl effect is a charity which gives money exclusively to girls in africa to help them gain income through a donation which allows them to buy animals (cows) for sustainable income (milk).

As much as it is a good idea, I must ask, why not also give money to men? Well apparently they have the answer on their site, but their statistics are in a way twisted to make it look as if the women are much better agents of change than the men. One statistic struck me: "When girls and women earn income, the reinvest 90% of it into their families , as compared to only 30-40% for men."

Now let me compare the income of an average man compared with one of an average woman in Africa:

The numbers given by the United Nations Development program and the African Development Bank state that a women earns on average only 51.8% of what a man earns. For simplification, we can say they earn 50% of what a man does.

Say a man earns on average 100$ a month (random number) and devotes 40% of his income to his family, the man devotes 40$ to his family.

Now a women will earn on average 50% of 100 which is 50$, she will devote 90% of her income to her family, so 45$.

In conclusion, a women only devotes on average only 12% more money than a man. Not to mention the man will have much more money to spend on consumer products, boosting the economy.

Don't get me wrong, the charity has a good goal, I just think it should also be available to men and their statistics are true, but do not represent what one thinks they represent.

Microsoft surface, Amazingness

This thing is basically a table with multitouch. It works like an iphone but now has something amazingly exceptional to it. It can project something onto a screen as well as something OVER the screen, so you can place a piece of paper over the surface and see a whole new layer, move that up and see different things, even while turning it (with infrared sensors). recovery.gov uses youtube!

Well, I know this may sound irrelevant and unimportant but this is basically (i think), the first time in history I have seen a youtube video that was official from the government embedded from youtube.

It's pretty interesting because:

1. It shows how huge youtube is

2. The trust put into youtube is huge

3. The community and the US president are starting to interact more through the internet, it seems as if our president is more up to date on the technology and such, i love it!

How to kill aids

Aids is a virus that has spread all over the world, mainly hitting Africa. But there was one thing that got me thinking, If a cell containing aids is heated to 60 degrees Celsius (not that much, our body is at 37 degrees) then the aids would die.

This got me thinking so I did a little research, sadly if you heat a body up to 43 or so degrees (core temperature), the person will die (there had to be a catch!). Then I thought about how the blood is cleaned (in hospitals), a tube is put through someone's arm, the blood comes out, gets heated, cooled, and goes back into the bloodstream, what if there was a way to do this for the body, being able to target individual cells and only heat them to kill the aids.

This blog is one that follows no specific continuation, facts and ideas I find interesting will be posted, interesting gadgets I see will be as well.

I enjoy science and computers quite a bit but am very open to different ideas and facts, something comical or dead serious, ideas are appreciated and always will be.
